Middletown Public Schools
COVID 19 UPDATE
Updated: February 26, 2021
Based on guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Public Health (RIDOH), any student or staff member who is confirmed positive for the COVID-19 virus will be instructed to isolate at home. As outlined in our health protocols, we will notify families and staff when there is a positive case and work with RIDOH on contact tracing. Anyone who is a close contact (defined as spending at least 15 minutes within 6 feet of a person with a confirmed diagnosis during their infectious period) will be notified that they need to quarantine to avoid potential spread.
About the data:
- Students who are participating full-time in distance learning from home are not included on the dashboard, unless they are physically participating in an activity at the school.
- These numbers include any student or staff who has tested positive or is in quarantine, regardless of whether their exposure was at one of our schools.
- For privacy concerns, the student and staff numbers are combined.
- Cases are removed from the count when the individual is cleared to return to school or work.
