The Gaudet Student Support Team is committed to creating a positive learning environment to promote healthy choices and academic success.
The Gaudet Student Support Team consist of:
Dean of Students --
Mrs. Nunes (anunes@mpsri.net) works to support all our students to reach the high behavioral and academic standards we expect from students in our Gaudet Community.
School Counselors --
Mrs. McCarty (smccarty@mpsri.net) is the 4th & 5th grade School Counselor and assists in the transition from elementary to middle school.
Mr. Caldwell (tcaldwell@mpsri.net) supports students in the 6th & 7th grades.
Ms. Guarino (pguarino@mpsri.net) works with 8th grade students and assists in the transition from middle to high school.
As part of our Social Emotional Learning, all our School Counselors teach an SEL class to all the students in their designated grades. The SEL class focuses on helping students learn stress management skills, time management and organizational skills, and social situation strategies. School Counselors also work with students on personal/social interactions, academic success, and career exploration.
School Social Worker --
Ms. Mello (cmello@mpsri.net) is available to meet with students who may need additional support to help with situations that may be impacting their behavior and/or learning.
School Psychologists --
Mrs. Crozier (acrozier@mpsri.net) works with 4th & 5th grade students to listen and support students in keeping a positive focus to move forward.
Mrs. Widden (jwidden@mspri.net) works with 6th, 7th & 8th grade students to listen and support students as they move through the upper grades.
School Resource Officer --
Officer Costa (bcosta@mpsri.net) is a member of the Middletown Police Department who works with our Gaudet students and staff to build a strong, positive community relationship. He also presents our D.A.R.E. program to the 5th grade students.
Additional Student Support Team Members --
Ms. Deane (sdeane@mpsri.net) is part of the Rhode Island Student Assistance Services (RISAS) works with our 7th & 8th grades to provide school and community-based substance abuse prevention and early intervention services. (www.risas.org)
Middletown Prevention Coalition Members support students in living a positive, healthy lifestyle through Islanders Committed, a student organization who supports and encourages students to live healthy.
