RESOURCES
The Department of Student Services encompasses all students ages 3-22 with special education services, 504s as well as health services.
A 504 Plan is a plan developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives accommodations that will ensure their academic success and access to the learning environment. The principal is the 504 coordinator for each building.
The Middletown SELAC is a group of parents and professionals working together to provide advice to the Department of Student Services in regard to Special Education Services. We act as an advocacy group for students with disabilities from Middletown. The committee meets four times a year and is looking for input from parents/guardians. Come join us! Our Early Childhood Program is a public preschool program located at Aquidneck Elementary School. The program is an integrated preschool model servicing children with special needs and local peers. The program is open to 3-5 year olds who require special education services as well as typically developing peers.
